Global media company Condé Nast worked with Design Republic and Empire Office to refurbish their multi-floor headquarters at 1 World Trade Center, resulting in a sophisticated and stunning space with warm tones sprinkled throughout the furniture selections. An expert in style and design, Condé Nast sought a workspace transformation that would fulfill the values and expectations of its young and diverse workforce. Steelcase FrameOne workstations aided in this transition to open plan benching, fostering an enhanced collaborative work environment. This project features approximately 30 ancillary manufacturers, as well as value-engineered options for additional cost savings. Condé Nast is the primary tenant at 1WTC, the tallest building in America, and Empire expedited the move-in process by performing multi-floor installations that allowed the client to shift work to vacant floors while construction was occurring on others.

A long-time client of Empire and a leading global financial services firm relocated 2,000 employees from their offices in downtown Phoenix to a campus in South Tempe, AZ. Empire and Gensler collaborated on the two buildings that now house the company’s growing operations and created a fresh open office environment that features 120-degree workstations, cafeterias, game rooms, training rooms, a health and wellness center, various breakout areas and more. Steelcase Answer workstations provide an airy feel for employees while also limiting noise exposure throughout the floor. Additionally, Hamilton lockers allow employees to store their personal belongings, reducing workspace clutter.

This multinational financial services company partnered with Empire Office on the relocation of their Houston, TX office. Located in a landmark building in heart of downtown Houston, this office drew on the guiding design principles developed by its design firm, HOK. We worked closely with all parties to procure, deliver and install the project on a compressed schedule while achieving a 20% cost savings for the client through the strategic value-engineering of the furniture package. The resulting space promotes the client’s brand, ties into the local community in which the office resides and provides choice and variety of space for the employees. Featured manufacturers include Steelcase, Coalesse, Nienkamper, Prismatique and Boss.

American Industrial Partners (AIP), a national private equity firm, worked with Nelson and Empire to design and furnish their NYC office located on the 40th floor overlooking Midtown Manhattan. Empire procured, delivered and installed all furniture including Steelcase Ology height-adjustable desks and Steelcase Elective Elements wood private offices. The open plan office provides employees with a café, small and large conference rooms and collaboration areas. The space also features ancillary furniture from Geiger, Source International, Bernhardt, Cumberland, Davis, Gunlocke, Clarus and Nucraft, among others.

Empire worked with Group M’s design firm, HOK, as well as 87 different ancillary manufacturers to create a workplace fit for the global media giant. Empire helped procure and deliver over 900 pieces of furniture for the expansive North American headquarters located at 3 WTC in New York, organizing every detail and ensuring each piece arrived within schedule. We worked closely with BOLD furniture to create custom meeting tables to bring out the uniqueness of the brand.

Argo Group, an investment provider of insurance and reinsurance products, hired TPG Architecture and Empire Office to design and furnish their new office located in a former warehouse in New York City’s Meatpacking District. The office houses the company’s digital team and features large collaboration spaces, an open cafe with booths, and a wall of conference rooms and private offices to accommodate their young and growing workforce. The new office now also includes a terrace for events and outdoor working, designed with plants to mirror the neighboring High Line.

Empire delivered a unique ancillary-filled space for the headquarters of this well-known brand powerhouse. Partnering with Perkins+Will, we transformed the closed office/workstation environment into an open hoteling workspace that encourages movement and collaboration. We introduced unique product lines such as West Elm Workspace and MASH Studios that helped meet the client’s overall budget requirements and provided a resimercial style with custom, unique elements built in. The project included more than 1500 workstations, 25 conference rooms, and over 30 collaborative vignettes.

To match this glamorous and fun lifestyle brand, Empire Office and Gensler teamed up to create this stylish workspace for Juicy Couture’s new Los Angeles office. The space featured 85 Steelcase FrameOne benching stations and six private offices, as well as a number of ancillary pieces from Coalesse, HEM, Muuto, Vitra, Hightower and Crate and Barrel, to name a few. True to the Juicy brand, the space delivered an element of surprise around every corner.

The Empire team delivered a creative custom space for this out-of-the-box client. The project included 315 workstations, 45 private offices, walls, ancillary furniture for collaboration, cafe spaces and conference rooms. Empire worked with West Elm, as well as local Brooklyn craftsmen and manufacturers whenever possible to create custom pieces and spaces to match the vision of the client and their design firm to truly brand their space.

The Empire team delivered a stunning modern space for this non-profit client. The two- floor project included height-adjustable workstations, break out ancillary areas, and a large reception space. The final product solution included pieces from ten different manufacturers, among them being Allermuir, Steelcase, and West Elm. The space also featured larger-than-life photo prints of some of the millions of people that Doctors Without Borders assists as per their mission.
