This design-forward company needed a unique look for their new Los Angeles workspace to match the look and feel of their distinctive retail brand. Joe’s Jeans product designers worked closely with the teams at Gensler and Empire Office to bring their vision to life with custom conference tables, 115 freestanding workstations and seven bar-height collaboration tables featuring stone tops and heavy duty casters that could support the weight of the stone. A number of ancillary solutions rounded out the space and together reflect a beautiful, clean and functional creative studio with a hint of rock & roll glam.
Gensler and Empire joined forces in the creation of Lynn University’s new Student Center, what is now considered their “Jewel of the Campus.” Empire furnished the students’ new home-away-from-home, which features collaboration areas, meeting rooms, a new Student Life Center, dining area and various outdoor spaces. All of the furniture pieces were chosen to provide a cool and comforting vibe, giving students and faculty a place to come together and connect. To parents’ delight, an internal committee physically tested out each piece to ensure the utmost satisfaction.
An online leader in providing health information, WebMD was looking to increase employee interaction and encourage collaboration. Moving to a new space, their goal was to create an environment with an open plan accompanied with various breakout stations. This two-floor build included over 600 workstations, 35 private offices, 10 collaborative spaces, a fitness center, two cafe spaces and a coffee bar.
Empire, alongside Gensler, created a fun, colorful, two-story workspace at 1 World Trade Center for this multi-platform gaming and technology company. The space features multiple “studio” workspaces as well as workstations and collaborative areas. The space also offers more natural light and colorful accents to encourage creativity. Empire helped procure furniture to fit the aesthetic design while adhering to budget constraints.
Empire worked closely with the team at Kasowitz along with a number of manufacturers over the staged, two-and-a-half-year project encompassing five floors and 173,000 square feet in Midtown Manhattan. Once completed, the firm’s New York headquarters featured all new partner and associate offices, administrative work spaces and conference areas, along with beautiful glass walls and an elegant ancillary package. Due to the success of this project, Empire has also had the opportunity to work on projects for the firm’s locations in Los Angeles, Houston and Washington DC providing a convenient, consistent source and single point of contact.
Memorial Sloan Kettering, the Manhattan based non-profit cancer center, recently partnered with Empire Office to design and furnish their new two-floor cancer center hospital in Bergen, NJ. MSK’s goal was to transform their existing corporate headquarters into a relaxing and comforting care center closer to their patients. Empire helped select various ancillary manufacturers to equip several waiting areas with a resimerical feel to help patients and visiting family feel at home during their stay. The new hospital now also includes private infusion rooms to allow patients privacy and relaxation while receiving treatment.
Empire worked alongside the architect, design firm and client to create custom workstations and dynamic ancillary packages for this initial installation. Steelcase solutions were used for the benching, private offices and seating. An extensive list of ancillary manufacturers were used throughout the project in several breakout spaces. Empire has also assisted through several evolutions of design within different phases of Horizon Media’s New York expansion throughout the years.
Empire Office worked directly with RCL Corporate to create a collaborative space that fosters creativity for the Digital Experience team at Royal Caribbean. The objective for the 4,000 square foot project was to easily allow the digital team to work in groups and share ideas. Bold colors were used to create a design statement. Steelcase privacy walls separate spaces, allowing privacy with transparency. Other maunfacturers such as Coalesse, Kimball and Logiflex were used to create brightly colored, collaborative, casual working areas.
An innovator in the health-technology industry, Modernizing Medicine fittingly chose the Boca Raton Innovation Campus as the site of its new HQ. Together, Gensler and Empire Office designed and furnished this on-going phased project to reflect the company’s creative and fun culture. Empire provided all of the ancillary furniture and task seating for this 2-floor open plan office, incorporating the company’s bold brand colors. The office won ‘Best Large Corporate Project’ at the IIDA South Florida Chapter’s 2019 Bragg Awards.
Empire Office and Gensler partnered to bring Greenberg Traurig this stunning updated office. In relocating its Tampa office, this international law firm was looking for a workplace that reflected its progressive nature. The area features flexible conference areas and glass-front private offices. A café and a law library with comfortable yet elegant materials for seating encourage client meetings, interaction and socializing.
