Empire Office teamed up with design firm Arcadis to create a fresh, hospitality-driven look for their new Miami space. Located in Coral Gables, this project involved reconfiguring and refurbishing 13-year-old workstations, task seating, and storage pieces, alongside introducing new ancillary pieces with bright pops of color and plenty of green hues. Reusing products helped extend their lifespan to 30+ years and reduce landfill waste by 75%.
The purposeful juxtaposition of the open, welcoming floor plan with the private touchdown and meeting spaces enhanced the space’s overall success and functionality. Major manufacturers, such as Steelcase, Bernhardt, Blu Dot, Davis, and Hightower, provided key design elements punctuated by biophilic touches to bring a Miami flare to the space. Recipient of IIDA SFC’s Bragg Award in the Compact Corporate category, this project highlighted exceptional design and functionality, optimizing the workspace for enhanced comfort and productivity.
This joint effort between Gensler and Empire Office epitomizes the power of collaboration between designer and dealer, showcasing seamless execution and innovative solutions. With a goal to ignite inspiration and creativity, Gensler designed their own space in Midtown Atlanta to be an energetic destination and came to Empire to help bring their vision to reality.
Featured areas highlight Atlanta’s southern hospitality, with an outdoor terrace, a vibrant artwork & design lab, and diverse collaboration areas, which provide a variety of spaces for creative outlet for the team. Carefully curated products are interwoven throughout the floor plan from various vendor partners, including Andreu World, Blu Dot, Coalesse, HBF, Steelcase, & West Elm. With meticulous planning, effective communication, and transparent decision-making, this project illustrates how a strong relationship can elevate commercial design to new heights while activating brand experiences within a physical space.
